September 17 to December 17, 2017

Sherbrooke based photographer Guy Tremblay counts 45 years of experience. As he likes to be against the trends, he specializes his work in platinum and palladium prints. No need to say he is one of the few to use this practice in Quebec. It consists of pairing high technology with antic process. His work, in black and white, enhances the essence of his subjects. For this artisan attracted by contrasts, the final result is just as important as the process.

The exhibition Résistance shows works highlighted by the chosen medium as well as technical skills, and is a combination of themes that are dear to him. It has never been seen in the region. The exhibition presents several series, including one that demystifies the reality of street people by putting forward the person rather than their conditions. These portraits will make you want to take a break and think.

Guy Tremblay will be present at the Yvonne L. Bombardier Cultural Centre on September 30th for the Journées de la culture event and also on November 4th for the presentation of his conference: Au-delà de l'art, la photographie engagée. Do not miss out on these unique events!
